Description

These Twix Cookies combine buttery shortbread, gooey caramel, and rich chocolate for a treat that tastes just like the candy bar! They’re perfect for holidays, parties, or whenever you need a sweet bite.


Ingredients

  • Shortbread Cookies:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Caramel Layer:
  • 1 cup soft caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • Chocolate Topping:
  • 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  • Make the Shortbread: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, beat butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla.
  • Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Roll dough to ¼-inch thickness and cut into circles. Place on baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely.
  • Prepare Caramel Layer: Melt caramel candies with heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  • Spread caramel over each cookie and let it set.
  • Make Chocolate Topping: Melt chocolate chips with oil in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  • Spoon or drizzle chocolate over the caramel layer. Let set before serving.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
  • Use homemade caramel for an even richer taste!
