Description

These Turkey Sliders are juicy, flavorful mini sandwiches made with seasoned ground turkey and melty cheese, all nestled in soft slider buns. They’re easy to prepare and great for entertaining or meal prep!

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Turkey Patties:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For Assembly:

  • 12 slider buns (Hawaiian rolls or mini brioche buns work great!)
  • 6 slices cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or provolone), halved
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise or Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1/2 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 small tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced (optional)

For the Butter Topping (Optional, for Baked Sliders):

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

 Prepare the Turkey Patties:

  • In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix until just combined (don’t overmix to keep the patties tender).
  • Shape into 12 small patties, slightly larger than the buns (they shrink while cooking).

2. Cook the Patties:

  • Stovetop: Heat a skillet over medium heat with a little oil. Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp 165°F/74°C).
  • Oven: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes on a parchment-lined baking sheet, flipping halfway through.

3. Assemble the Sliders:

  • Spread mayonnaise or Dijon mustard on the slider buns.
  • Place a turkey patty on the bottom bun and top with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and red onion.
  • Place the top bun on and press down gently.

4. (Optional) Bake the Sliders for Extra Flavor:

  • Arrange assembled sliders in a baking dish.
  • Mix melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley and brush over the buns.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, until warm and slightly crispy.

Notes

  • Make it Healthier: Use whole wheat slider buns and low-fat cheese.
  • Spicy Version: Add ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper to the turkey mixture or spread spicy mayo on the buns.
  • Meal Prep: Cook patties ahead and refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
