Description

These Traeger Baked Eggs are rich, velvety, and infused with a subtle wood-fired flavor. Baked in a creamy, cheesy base, they make a perfect low-carb and protein-packed breakfast. Serve with toasted bread or enjoy straight from the dish!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, gruyère, or parmesan)
  • 1 tbsp butter (for greasing)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh herbs (chives, parsley, or thyme)

  • Toasted bread or biscuits (for serving, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Traeger

  • Set your Traeger to 375°F and allow it to preheat for 15 minutes with the lid closed.
  • Use mild wood pellets like apple, cherry, or maple for the best flavor.

2. Prepare the Baking Dish

  • Grease a small cast-iron skillet, ramekins, or a baking dish with butter.

3. Assemble the Eggs

  • Pour heavy cream into the baking dish.
  • Crack eggs gently into the dish, keeping the yolks intact.
  • Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
  • Top with shredded cheese and fresh herbs.

4. Bake on the Traeger

  • Place the dish directly on the Traeger grates.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the egg whites are set but yolks are still slightly runny.
  • If you prefer firmer yolks, cook for 2-3 minutes longer.

5. Serve & Enjoy!

  • Remove from the grill and let cool for 2 minutes.
  • Serve hot with toasted bread, biscuits, or avocado slices!

Notes

  • For spicier eggs, add red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños.
  • Swap heavy cream for half-and-half for a lighter version.

  • If using individual ramekins, reduce cooking time to 8-10 minutes.
