Ingredients

Units Scale
  • :
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
  • 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional for extra chocolatey goodness)

Instructions

  • :
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×9-inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until well combined.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Stir in the milk until the batter is smooth. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
  • Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes.
  • Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy your rich, fudgy brownies!

Notes

  • :
  • For extra gooey brownies, underbake them slightly (check around 20 minutes).
  • You can add nuts like walnuts or pecans for extra texture and flavor.
  • For a fun twist, swirl in some peanut butter or caramel sauce before baking.
  • These brownies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, or refrigerated for up to a week.
