- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup whole milk (plus more for blending)
- 2 cups ice cubes
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (for whipped topping, optional)
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (for whipped topping, optional)
- Chocolate shavings or sprinkles (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 20-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
- Make the chocolate mixture: Stir in cocoa powder, sugar, and ½ cup warm milk until well combined and smooth. Let it cool for a few minutes.
- Blend: In a blender, add the cooled chocolate mixture, ice, vanilla extract, and ½ cup cold milk. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Make whipped cream (optional): In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Serve: Pour the frozen hot chocolate into glasses, top with whipped cream, and garnish with chocolate shavings or sprinkles. Enjoy immediately

- For a dairy-free version, use almond, oat, or coconut milk, and replace whipped cream with coconut whipped cream.
