Description

These barbecued pork steaks are juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection on the grill. Smothered in BBQ sauce and seasoned just right, they’re the perfect main dish for a summer cookout or any time you’re craving bold, smoky flavors.


Ingredients

 

  • 4 pork shoulder steaks (about 1 inch thick)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

  • 1 tablespoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)


Instructions

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F).

  • Pat the pork steaks dry with paper towels.

  • In a small bowl, mix together garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and cayenne (if using).

  • Rub both sides of the pork steaks with olive oil, then coat with the spice mixture.

  • Place the steaks on the grill and cook for 6–7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.

  • During the last 2–3 minutes of cooking, brush both sides of the steaks generously with BBQ sauce.

 

  • Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.


Notes

  • For extra tender pork, marinate the steaks in BBQ sauce for a few hours before grilling.

  • These can also be cooked in a grill pan on the stovetop if a grill isn’t available.

 

  • Serve with classic sides like coleslaw, baked beans, or corn on the cob.
