Description

These Tasty Eggless Dinner Rolls are soft, fluffy, and full of buttery goodness—no eggs required! Perfect for holiday meals, weeknight dinners, or whenever you want warm, homemade bread fresh from the oven.

Ingredients

Units Scale

3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (plus more as needed)

2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons butter, melted (for brushing)

Instructions

Activate yeast: In a large bowl, mix warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit for 5–10 minutes, until frothy.

Make dough: Add softened butter, salt, and flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until combined and knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic (you can use a stand mixer with a dough hook).

First rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Shape rolls: Punch down dough and divide into 12–15 equal portions. Shape into balls and place in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish or sheet.

Second rise: Cover rolls and let them rise again for 30–45 minutes, until puffy.

Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake rolls for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown.

Brush and serve: Remove from oven and brush with melted butter while warm. Serve fresh.

Notes

  • Use plant-based milk and vegan butter to make them dairy-free.

  • You can refrigerate the shaped rolls overnight, then bake the next day.

  • These freeze well—reheat in the oven wrapped in foil.
