Description

These tender, bite-sized steak pieces are caramelized in a sweet and savory glaze, making them the perfect quick and flavorful meal or appetizer!

Ingredients

Scale
For the Steak:
  • 1 1/2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for extra crispiness)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Sticky Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional, for heat)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
For Garnish:

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, sliced

Instructions

Prepare the Steak:

Pat steak bites dry with paper towels, then toss with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cornstarch.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Sear the steak bites for 2–3 minutes per side, until browned and crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Make the Sticky Sauce:

In the same pan, add garlic and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Stir in soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, sriracha, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.

Simmer for 2–3 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly.

Combine & Serve:

Return the steak bites to the pan, tossing to coat in the sticky glaze. Cook for 1 more minute.

Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Serve hot with rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables.

Notes

  • Swap sirloin for ribeye or New York strip for extra tenderness.
  • For a thicker sauce, mix 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water and add to the sauce.

  • Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 3 days.
