  • Make the Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1/2 cup water and 1 cup sugar. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved, then remove from heat. Let it cool for about 5 minutes.
  • Coat the Cranberries: Add the fresh cranberries to the warm syrup and stir to coat them evenly. Let them sit for 5-10 minutes to absorb the syrup.
  • Drain and Dry: Using a slotted spoon, transfer the cranberries to a wire rack or parchment-lined baking sheet. Let them dry for about 1 hour until they are tacky but not wet.
  • Sugar Coating: Roll the cranberries in additional granulated sugar until fully coated. For extra sparkle, use a mix of granulated and superfine sugar.
