- 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
- 1 (10.5 oz) can beef consommé (or beef broth)
- 1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (if needed)
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Set to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine ingredients: In a 9×9-inch or 9×13-inch baking dish, mix the uncooked rice, beef consommé, and French onion soup. Stir in garlic powder and black pepper if using.
- Add butter: Place the butter slices evenly on top of the rice mixture.
- Bake uncovered: Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed the liquid.
