- 6 cups apples (about 5-6 medium), peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- For the Oat Crumble Topping:
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Prepare the Apples:
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased slow cooker (4–6 quart).
- Make the Crumble Topping:
- In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Stir in melted butter until the mixture is crumbly.
- Assemble & Cook:
- Sprinkle the oat crumble evenly over the apples.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours, until the apples are soft and bubbly.
- Serve & Enjoy:
- Let cool slightly before serving.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
