Description

A simple and delicious chicken recipe made in one pan! Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner, this juicy, pan-seared chicken is packed with flavor and ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or 4 small)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (or white wine for extra flavor)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp fresh thyme or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the chicken – If using large chicken breasts, slice them in half lengthwise to create thinner cutlets. Pat dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  • Sear the chicken – Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp: 165°F). Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • Make the sauce – Reduce heat to medium, add butter and garlic to the skillet, and sauté for 30 seconds. Pour in chicken broth (or wine) and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  • Finish and serve – Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the sauce over the top, and cook for another minute. Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Serve with rice, pasta, or roasted veggies.
  • Add a splash of heavy cream for a creamy sauce.

  • Swap paprika for smoked paprika for a deeper flavor.
