- 1 pound breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 6 slices white or whole wheat bread, cubed
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried mustard (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven – Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook Sausage – In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
- Layer Ingredients – Spread the cubed bread evenly in the baking dish. Sprinkle the cooked sausage over the bread, followed by the shredded cheese.
- Mix Eggs & Milk – In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and any optional seasonings.
- Assemble Casserole – Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage, bread, and cheese. Lightly press down to soak the bread.
- Bake – Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
- Cool & Serve – Let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
