Description

This dark chocolate bark is packed with roasted hazelnuts and pistachios, giving it a delicious crunch and a nutty, slightly salty contrast to the smooth, rich chocolate. Perfect for a homemade gift or an indulgent treat!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 12 oz (340g) dark chocolate (70% or higher), chopped
  • 1/2 cup roasted hazelnuts, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup roasted pistachios, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for extra depth)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)

Instructions

  • Melt the Chocolate:
  • Place chopped dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth (about 1–1.5 minutes total).
  • Alternatively, melt using a double boiler over low heat.
  • Mix in Flavor Enhancers (Optional):
  • Stir in vanilla extract and honey or maple syrup, if using.
  • Spread the Chocolate:
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Pour the melted chocolate onto the sheet and spread it into an even layer (about ¼-inch thick).
  • Add the Nuts & Sea Salt:
  • Sprinkle hazelnuts and pistachios evenly over the melted chocolate.
  • Lightly press the nuts into the chocolate so they stick.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt for a sweet-salty balance.
  • Chill & Set:
  • Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 30-45 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully set.
  • Break & Serve:
  • Once hardened, break the bark into rough pieces and enjoy!

Notes

  • Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks or in the fridge for 1 month.
  • Add-ins: Try adding dried cranberries, orange zest, or coconut flakes for extra flavor!
  • Sweeter version: Use semi-sweet chocolate (60%) instead of dark chocolate.
