Description

This Refreshing Hibiscus Lemonade is a vibrant, tangy, and slightly sweet drink made with brewed hibiscus tea, fresh lemon juice, and a touch of honey or sugar. It’s naturally caffeine-free, packed with antioxidants, and perfect for a summer day or as a beautiful drink for any occasion!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers (or 4 hibiscus tea bags)
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 3-4 lemons)
  • 1/3 cup honey, sugar, or sweetener of choice (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cups cold water or ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and fresh mint (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Brew the hibiscus tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add dried hibiscus flowers (or tea bags). Let steep for 10–15 minutes, until deep red.
  • Strain and sweeten: Strain out the hibiscus flowers (or remove tea bags). While still warm, stir in honey or sugar until dissolved.
  • Add lemon juice: Let the tea cool slightly, then stir in freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  • Chill and serve: Add 2 cups of cold water or ice and stir well. Refrigerate until chilled.
  • Garnish and enjoy: Serve over ice with lemon slices and fresh mint for a refreshing twist!

Notes

  • Make it fizzy: Replace cold water with sparkling water for a bubbly version.
  • Want it stronger? Let the hibiscus steep longer or use more flowers.
  • Spice it up: Add a cinnamon stick or a few slices of fresh ginger while brewing.
  • Storage: Keep refrigerated for up to 3 days.
