- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
- 1 cup coconut milk (or whole milk)
- 1/2 cup good-quality cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup dark or spiced rum (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 cup chocolate liqueur (optional, for extra richness)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Whipped cream and grated chocolate for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Blend the ingredients – In a blender, combine cream of coconut, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, coconut milk, cocoa powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and salt. Blend until smooth.
- Add the alcohol – Pour in the rum and chocolate liqueur (if using) and blend again until well incorporated.
- Chill – Transfer to a glass bottle or airtight container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight for best flavor).
- Serve – Shake well before serving, pour into small glasses, and garnish with whipped cream and grated chocolate if desired.
Notes
- Use Puerto Rican rum like Bacardí or Don Q for an authentic taste.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sweetened condensed milk.
- For a thicker coquito, let it sit in the fridge overnight.
