Description

This quick and easy potsticker dipping sauce is savory, slightly tangy, and perfectly balanced with a hint of sweetness. It’s a great complement to homemade or store-bought potstickers, dumplings, or gyoza. Made with basic pantry ingredients, this sauce comes together in minutes, adding an extra layer of flavor to your favorite Asian appetizers.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (regular or low sodium)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (or honey for a natural sweetener)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, freshly grated
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)
  • 1 tablespoon green onions, finely chopped (optional)

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, and water until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add the minced garlic and freshly grated ginger to the sauce, stirring well to combine.
  • For extra heat, stir in chili flakes if desired.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
  • Serve alongside freshly cooked potstickers or dumplings.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar or honey.
  • For a gluten-free option, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
  • Feel free to add a squeeze of fresh lime juice for a citrusy twist.
