Ingredients

1 loaf French bread, sliced in half lengthwise

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 1/2 cups marinara or pizza sauce

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup pepperoni slices (or any toppings you like)

1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

Place French bread halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.

Drizzle with olive oil and bake for 3–5 minutes, just until slightly crispy.

Spread marinara sauce evenly over each half.

Top with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, olives, and any other toppings.
