Description

This cheesy, salty, and savory bread is packed with chopped green and black olives, gooey melted cheese, and creamy mayo, all baked onto a crusty French loaf. It’s the ultimate party appetizer or comfort food side dish that comes together in no time.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread, sliced in half lengthwise

  • 6 oz black olives, chopped

  • 6 oz green olives with pimentos, chopped

  • 2 green onions, sliced

  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 3/4 lb Monterey Jack cheese, shredded

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).

  • In a large bowl, mix together the chopped black olives, green olives, green onions, softened butter, mayonnaise, and shredded cheese.

  • Spread the mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.

  • Place the bread halves on a baking sheet.

  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute Monterey Jack with mozzarella or cheddar.

  • For a little kick, try adding a dash of hot sauce or chopped jalapeños.

  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge and reheated in the oven or toaster oven.
