Description

Pico de Gallo is a classic Mexican salsa made with fresh tomatoes, onions, cilantro, lime juice, and jalapeños. It’s perfect for dipping with tortilla chips or adding to tacos, burritos, and grilled meats!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 medium ripe tomatoes, finely diced
  • 1/2 small red or white onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, finely diced (remove seeds for less heat)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 12 tablespoons fresh lime juice (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (optional)
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced (optional)

Instructions

 Chop & Mix

  1. In a medium bowl, combine diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro.
  2. Add lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.

2. Let the Flavors Marinate

  1. Let the Pico de Gallo sit for 10–15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

3. Taste & Adjust

  1. Taste and adjust seasoning—add more lime juice or salt as needed.

4. Serve & Enjoy!

  1. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 days.

Notes

  • Use Roma tomatoes for the best texture—they’re less watery.
  • Add avocado or mango for a fun twist!
  • Let it chill for 30 minutes for even better flavor.
