- 4 medium ripe tomatoes, finely diced
- 1/2 small red or white onion, finely chopped
- 1 jalapeño, finely diced (remove seeds for less heat)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1–2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (optional)
- 1 small garlic clove, minced (optional)
Instructions
Chop & Mix
- In a medium bowl, combine diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro.
- Add lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
2. Let the Flavors Marinate
- Let the Pico de Gallo sit for 10–15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
3. Taste & Adjust
- Taste and adjust seasoning—add more lime juice or salt as needed.
4. Serve & Enjoy!
- Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 days.
Notes
- Use Roma tomatoes for the best texture—they’re less watery.
- Add avocado or mango for a fun twist!
- Let it chill for 30 minutes for even better flavor.
