These Pepperoni Pinwheels are a quick and easy appetizer that’s perfect for game days, parties, or a fun snack! Made with buttery puff pastry (or crescent dough), gooey melted cheese, and spicy pepperoni, these bite-sized treats are sure to be a crowd favorite.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed (or 1 can crescent roll dough)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce (plus extra for dipping)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices (mini or regular)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Dough
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a 12×10-inch rectangle. If using crescent dough, pinch seams together.
  • Step 2: Assemble the Pinwheels
  • Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a ½-inch border around the edges.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
  • Layer with pepperoni slices and sprinkle with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese.
  • Step 3: Roll & Slice
  • Roll up the dough tightly from the long side into a log.
  • Slice into ½-inch thick rounds and place them cut-side up on the baking sheet.
  • Step 4: Bake the Pinwheels
  • Brush the tops with egg wash for a golden finish.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Step 5: Serve & Enjoy
  • Let cool slightly, then garnish with chopped parsley. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Make it spicier: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat.
  • Use different cheeses: Try cheddar, provolone, or gouda for a unique flavor.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 5 minutes.
  • Freezing option: Freeze unbaked pinwheels, then bake straight from frozen, adding 3-5 minutes to the bake time.
