- For the Meat Layer:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- For the Cheese Layer:
- 1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- For the Lasagna Layers:
- 9 lasagna noodles, cooked according to package instructions
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- For Topping:
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the Meat: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Drain excess fat. Stir in the diced tomatoes, marinara sauce, and crumbled bacon. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, salt, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese until smooth.
- Assemble the Lasagna:
- Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of the baking dish.
- Add 3 lasagna noodles.
- Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
- Sprinkle with ⅓ of the cheddar and mozzarella.
- Repeat layers once more.
- Top with the remaining 3 noodles, the rest of the meat sauce, and the last of the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Serve: Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy!
Notes
- Swap ground beef for ground turkey for a lighter version.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
- Serve with a side of garlic bread and a simple salad.
