Description

This rich and creamy Alfredo sauce tastes just like the one from Olive Garden! Made with butter, heavy cream, and parmesan cheese, it’s the perfect topping for fettuccine or any pasta of your choice. Ready in just 15 minutes!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and whole milk, stirring constantly.
  • Add the softened cream cheese and whisk until fully melted and combined.
  • Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until smooth.
  • Season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg (if using).
  • Simmer for 3–5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Remove from heat and let it sit for a minute before serving over your favorite pasta.

Notes

  • For a thinner sauce, add more milk or a splash of pasta water.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan melts better than pre-packaged grated cheese.
  • Serve immediately, as the sauce thickens as it cools.
