Description

This Old Bay Garlic Shrimp Pasta is a flavorful, quick, and easy dish that combines succulent shrimp seasoned with classic Old Bay spices, garlic, and a creamy sauce. Served over a bed of pasta, it’s the perfect weeknight dinner with bold flavors and minimal prep.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 12 oz pasta (linguine, fettuccine, or spaghetti work well)
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (or dry white wine)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta:
Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. Season the shrimp:
Toss the shrimp with Old Bay seasoning until evenly coated.

  3. Sauté the shrimp:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp and set aside.

  4. Make the sauce:
In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Add chicken broth (or wine) and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  5. Add cream and cheese:
Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and lemon juice. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

  6. Combine everything:
Add the cooked pasta and shrimp back into the skillet. Toss everything together until well-coated in the sauce.

  7. Garnish and serve:
Season with salt and pepper as needed, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for some heat.
  • Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter version.
  • Swap out shrimp for scallops if desired.
