- 1 sleeve club crackers (or saltines, about 35 crackers)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 6 slices bacon (cooked & crumbled)
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (for garnish)
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
Instructions
1. Prep & Arrange Crackers:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 9×13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper or foil, then spray with cooking spray.
- Arrange crackers in a single layer, covering the entire sheet.
2. Make the Maple Caramel Sauce:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir in brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, and cinnamon.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly until smooth.
3. Assemble & Bake:
- Pour the hot caramel sauce evenly over the crackers.
- Sprinkle crumbled bacon on top.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
4. Cool & Crack:
- Let the mixture cool for 10 minutes, then sprinkle with sea salt and red pepper flakes.
- Once fully cooled, break into pieces and enjoy!
