Description

This Maple Bacon Crack is the ultimate sweet and salty snack! Buttery, crispy, caramelized bacon sits on a flaky cracker base, all covered in a rich maple brown sugar glaze. It’s addictively delicious and perfect for parties, holiday treats, or just because!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 sleeve club crackers (or saltines, about 35 crackers)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 6 slices bacon (cooked & crumbled)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (for garnish)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)

Instructions

1. Prep & Arrange Crackers:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a 9×13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper or foil, then spray with cooking spray.
  3. Arrange crackers in a single layer, covering the entire sheet.

2. Make the Maple Caramel Sauce:

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir in brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  2. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly until smooth.

3. Assemble & Bake:

  1. Pour the hot caramel sauce evenly over the crackers.
  2. Sprinkle crumbled bacon on top.
  3. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.

4. Cool & Crack:

  1. Let the mixture cool for 10 minutes, then sprinkle with sea salt and red pepper flakes.
  2. Once fully cooled, break into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

  • Want it extra crispy? Use thick-cut bacon for the best texture.
  • For a smoky touch, add ½ teaspoon smoked paprika to the caramel sauce.
  • Make it spicy! Add more red pepper flakes or a drizzle of hot honey.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
