Description

A Limoncello Sunrise is a bright, citrusy twist on the classic Tequila Sunrise. This refreshing cocktail features limoncello, orange juice, and a touch of grenadine for a stunning layered effect. It’s easy to make and perfect for brunch, summer parties, or a relaxing evening drink.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 oz limoncello (chilled)
  • 4 oz orange juice (freshly squeezed is best)
  • 1/2 oz grenadine
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange slice (for garnish)
  • Maraschino cherry (for garnish)

Instructions

  • 1. Fill the Glass:
  • Fill a tall glass (highball or Collins glass) with ice cubes.
  • 2. Add the Limoncello & Orange Juice:
  • Pour the limoncello over the ice.
  • Add the orange juice and stir gently to combine.
  • 3. Create the Sunrise Effect:
  • Slowly pour the grenadine down the side of the glass.
  • Wait a few moments for it to settle at the bottom, creating a sunrise gradient.
  • 4. Garnish & Serve:
  • Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.
  • Serve immediately with a straw or stir before drinking.

Notes

  • Make it bubbly: Add a splash of club soda or prosecco for a fizzy twist.
  • Swap the orange juice: Try pineapple juice for a tropical version.
  • Non-alcoholic option: Replace limoncello with lemonade for a refreshing mocktail.
