- 2 fish fillets (tilapia, cod, halibut, or your choice)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (for a light crust, optional)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Zest of 1/2 lemon
- 1/4 cup chicken broth (or white wine)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Lemon slices, for garnish
Instructions
- Season the fish: Pat the fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Lightly dust with flour for a golden crust (optional).
- Sear the fillets: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the fish and cook for 3–4 minutes per side (or until golden and flaky). Transfer to a plate.
- Make the lemon butter sauce: In the same pan, melt butter. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Stir in lemon juice, zest, and chicken broth (or white wine). Simmer for 2 minutes.
- Combine & serve: Return the fish to the pan and spoon the sauce over it. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and garnish with lemon slices.
- Enjoy! Serve warm with your favorite side dishes.
Notes
- Best fish to use: Tilapia, cod, halibut, snapper, or trout all work well.
- For extra crispiness: Use a light flour or cornstarch coating before frying.
- Make it creamy: Stir in 2 tbsp of heavy cream for a rich, creamy sauce.
