Description

A fun and easy homemade candy using flavored Jello and simple ingredients. These colorful, chewy treats are perfect for parties, gifts, or just a sweet snack!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 (3 oz) box flavored Jello (any flavor)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the mixture – In a saucepan, combine water, corn syrup, and unflavored gelatin. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
  • Heat the mixture – Place the saucepan over low heat, stirring until the gelatin dissolves completely.
  • Add Jello and sugar – Stir in the flavored Jello and ¾ cup of granulated sugar. Continue heating and stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  • Pour into molds – Lightly grease silicone candy molds or a lined baking dish. Pour the mixture into the molds or spread evenly in the dish.
  • Set and cool – Let the candy sit at room temperature for 2-3 hours, or until firm. If using a baking dish, cut into small squares once set.
  • Coat with sugar – Toss candy pieces in the remaining ¼ cup of granulated sugar or powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
  • Store – Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

Notes

  • Use different Jello flavors for a variety of colors and tastes.
  • For a sour version, mix in citric acid with the sugar coating.
  • Store in a cool, dry place to avoid stickiness.
