- 1 lb spaghetti
- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey, or sausage)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 cup beef broth (or vegetable broth)
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
- Grated parmesan for serving (optional)
Instructions

- Sauté: Turn on the Instant Pot and select the “Sauté” function. Heat olive oil and add the chopped onion. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until soft.
- Brown the Meat: Add the ground beef and garlic to the pot. Cook, breaking the meat apart, until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the Sauces: Stir in the tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, Italian seasoning, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Add the Pasta: Break the spaghetti in half and add it to the pot, pushing it into the sauce. Do not stir.
- Pressure Cook: Close the lid and set the valve to “Sealing.” Select the “Manual” or “Pressure Cook” setting and cook on high pressure for 8 minutes.
- Release Pressure: Once the cooking time is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 5 minutes, then carefully turn the valve to “Venting” to release any remaining pressure.
- Serve: Open the lid, stir the spaghetti, and serve with fresh herbs and grated parmesan if desired.

- If you want extra flavor, try adding red pepper flakes for a slight kick or a splash of red wine to the sauce.
- You can use gluten-free pasta or a different type of pasta, but cooking times may vary.
