- 1 loaf French bread (or brioche, challah), cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 1/2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk (or half-and-half for extra richness)
- 1/2 cup maple syrup (or brown sugar)
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions
Prepare the Bread & Berries
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- Spread half the bread cubes into the dish, then sprinkle with half the berries.
- Layer the remaining bread cubes on top, followed by the rest of the berries.
2. Make the Custard
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the custard evenly over the bread, pressing down slightly to ensure it soaks in.
- Cover and let sit for 30 minutes, or refrigerate overnight for a richer flavor.
3. Bake the Casserole
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Drizzle melted butter over the top.
- Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes, until golden brown and set.
4. Serve & Enjoy
- Let cool for 5 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with maple syrup. Serve warm!
