Description

These Honey BBQ Crockpot Meatballs are a delicious blend of sweet and tangy flavors, slow-cooked to perfection in a rich honey BBQ sauce. Whether you use homemade or frozen meatballs, this easy recipe is a crowd-pleaser that requires minimal effort!

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Meatballs (Use store-bought or homemade):

2 lbs frozen meatballs (or homemade, see below)

For the Sauce:

1 1/2 cups BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for extra smoky flavor)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional, for tanginess)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a medium bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, honey, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and Dijon mustard (if using).
  2. Assemble in Crockpot:

    • Place the frozen (or homemade) meatballs in the slow cooker.
    • Pour the sauce over the meatballs and toss to coat evenly.
  3. Slow Cook:

    • Cover and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours or HIGH for 2-3 hours, until the meatballs are heated through and the sauce is thick and sticky.
  4. Serve & Enjoy:

    • Serve as an appetizer with toothpicks or over rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles for a full meal.
    • Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions if desired.

Notes

  • Make it spicier by adding 1 teaspoon hot sauce or red pepper flakes.
  • Use turkey or chicken meatballs for a leaner option.
  • Make it thicker by simmering the sauce uncovered for 15 minutes before adding it to the slow cooker.
  • Serve on slider buns for easy BBQ meatball sandwiches!
