Description
These Heart-Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft, chewy, and packed with gooey chocolate chips. The dough is easy to roll and cut into heart shapes, making them the perfect treat for Valentine’s Day!

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Heart-shaped cookie cutter
Instructions
- Preheat & Prep – Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients – In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream Butter & Sugars – In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Eggs & Vanilla – Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- Combine & Add Chocolate Chips – Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Chill the Dough – Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes (makes cutting easier).
- Roll & Cut – Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies.
- Bake – Place cookies on prepared baking sheets and bake for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool & Enjoy – Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
- For extra festive cookies, drizzle with melted chocolate or sprinkle with red & pink sugar!
- No heart-shaped cutter? Shape dough into hearts by hand or use a knife.
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
