Ingredients
Scale
- 12 Hawaiian rolls (or any soft slider buns)
- 3/4 lb sliced ham (deli-style or leftover baked ham)
- 6 slices Swiss cheese (or provolone/cheddar)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise (optional)
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Slice the rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected. Place the bottom half in the baking dish.
- Spread mayonnaise (if using) on the cut sides of the rolls.
- Layer ham evenly over the bottom half, then top with cheese slices. Place the top half of the rolls back on.
- Make the buttery glaze: In a small bowl, mix melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and poppy seeds.
- Brush glaze evenly over the top of the rolls. Let sit for 5-10 minutes to soak in.
- Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 5-7 minutes until tops are golden brown.
- Garnish with parsley (optional) and serve warm. Enjoy!
Notes
- Use honey ham for a sweeter flavor or black forest ham for a smoky taste.
- Swap Swiss for cheddar, provolone, or pepper jack for a different twist.
- Add a layer of dill pickles or caramelized onions for extra flavor.
