- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup (120ml) Guinness stout beer
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.

Prepare the Batter:
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, Guinness stout, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top if using.
