Description

This Grilled Salmon with Lemon Herb Marinade is juicy, tender, and packed with fresh flavors. A simple marinade of lemon juice, garlic, and herbs enhances the salmon’s natural richness, while grilling adds a delicious smoky char. Perfect for a healthy dinner or a summer BBQ!

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Marinade:

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tsp dried dill)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

For the Salmon:

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • Lemon slices (for garnish)
  • Extra chopped herbs (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the Marinade:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, lemon zest, parsley, dill, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  2. Marinate the Salmon:

    • Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable bag.
    • Pour the marinade over the salmon, making sure each fillet is well coated.
    • Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes (but no longer than 1 hour to prevent the salmon from becoming too soft).
  3. Grill the Salmon:

    • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 375-400°F).
    • Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
    • Place salmon skin-side down and grill for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  4. Serve:

    • Remove from the grill and let rest for 2 minutes.
    • Garnish with extra fresh herbs and lemon slices. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • No grill? Cook the salmon in a pan over medium heat for the same time or bake at 400°F for 12-15 minutes.
  • Use foil on the grill for easy cleanup and to keep the salmon extra moist.

  • Pairs well with grilled veggies, quinoa, or a fresh salad!
