Description
Sweet, juicy pineapple slices caramelized on the grill—this simple recipe brings out the natural sugars and adds a smoky flavor. Perfect as a side dish, dessert, or even as a topping for burgers and tacos.
Ingredients
-
1 ripe pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into rings or spears
-
2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional, for extra caramelization)
-
1 tablespoon melted butter or coconut oil (optional)
-
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
-
Pinch of salt
Instructions
-
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
-
In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, melted butter (or oil), cinnamon, and salt.
-
Brush the mixture over both sides of the pineapple slices.
-
Place pineapple directly on the grill grates.
-
Grill for 2–3 minutes per side, or until grill marks appear and the pineapple is lightly caramelized.
-
Remove from the grill and serve warm.
Notes
-
You can skip the sugar and butter if you prefer a healthier version—the pineapple is naturally sweet!
-
Grilled pineapple pairs well with vanilla ice cream, yogurt, or grilled meats.
-
Try adding a squeeze of lime or a sprinkle of chili powder for a flavor twist.
