Description

Sweet, juicy pineapple slices caramelized on the grill—this simple recipe brings out the natural sugars and adds a smoky flavor. Perfect as a side dish, dessert, or even as a topping for burgers and tacos.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into rings or spears

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional, for extra caramelization)

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter or coconut oil (optional)

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, melted butter (or oil), cinnamon, and salt.

  3. Brush the mixture over both sides of the pineapple slices.

  4. Place pineapple directly on the grill grates.

  5. Grill for 2–3 minutes per side, or until grill marks appear and the pineapple is lightly caramelized.

  6. Remove from the grill and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can skip the sugar and butter if you prefer a healthier version—the pineapple is naturally sweet!

  • Grilled pineapple pairs well with vanilla ice cream, yogurt, or grilled meats.

  • Try adding a squeeze of lime or a sprinkle of chili powder for a flavor twist.
