Description

These Grilled Pesto Turkey Burgers are juicy, flavorful, and perfect for summer cookouts. The pesto adds a rich, herby twist to lean ground turkey, making these burgers anything but boring. Serve on a bun with your favorite toppings for a fresh and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey (93% lean)

  • 1/4 cup prepared basil pesto

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 4 whole-wheat hamburger buns, toasted

  • 4 slices tomato

  • 4 lettuce leaves

  • Optional: extra pesto for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, pesto, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined—don’t overmix.

  • Form into 4 equal patties.

  • Grill the burgers for 4–5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

  • Toast the buns on the grill for 1–2 minutes, if desired.

  • Assemble each burger with a patty, tomato slice, lettuce, and any additional toppings like more pesto, cheese, or onion.

Notes

  • You can use homemade pesto if you prefer.

  • These burgers freeze well. Just shape and freeze the patties before cooking.

  • Add mozzarella or provolone cheese for an extra creamy finish.
