Description

These grilled lemon pepper wings are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and bursting with bold lemony flavor. Coated in a simple seasoning blend and finished with a zesty lemon pepper butter, they’re a fresh twist on classic wings and totally addictive!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings (drumettes and flats)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • Zest of 1 lemon

For the Lemon Pepper Butter:

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • Optional: extra lemon zest for garnish

  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Grill:
Heat grill to medium-high (about 375–400°F).

  2. Prep the Wings:
Pat wings dry with paper towels. Toss in olive oil, then season with salt, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and lemon zest.

  3. Grill the Wings:
Place wings on the grill. Cook for 20–25 minutes, turning every 5–7 minutes, until nicely charred and cooked through (internal temp should be 165°F).

  4. Make the Lemon Pepper Butter:
In a small bowl, mix melted butter, lemon juice, black pepper, and salt.

  5. Toss and Serve:
Once wings are done, transfer to a large bowl. Pour lemon pepper butter over them and toss to coat. Garnish with extra lemon zest or chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra crispiness, let the wings air-dry in the fridge for a few hours before grilling.

You can also bake or air fry these if grilling isn’t an option.

Great with ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side.
