Scale
- 4 cups (about 2 cans) green beans, drained (or 1 lb fresh, trimmed and blanched)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups crispy fried onions, divided
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce (if using), and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- Add the green beans and half of the crispy fried onions, stirring gently to coat everything in the sauce.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×9-inch baking dish (or similar size).
- Bake uncovered for 25 minutes until hot and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining crispy fried onions evenly over the top.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until the onions are golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra creaminess, stir in ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese before baking.
- Use fresh green beans for a brighter, crisper texture. Blanch them in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then drain.
- Want a homemade touch? Use sautéed mushrooms and a homemade white sauce instead of canned soup.
