Description

This Caesar salad recipe is inspired by Gordon Ramsay’s classic twist on the timeless favorite. With crisp romaine lettuce, a rich homemade dressing, crunchy croutons, and shaved Parmesan, it’s bold, flavorful, and easy to prepare. Perfect as a side or a light main dish.


Ingredients

For the Salad:

  • 1 large head romaine lettuce, washed and chopped

  • 1 cup croutons (homemade or store-bought)

  • 1/4 cup shaved Parmesan cheese

For the Dressing:

  • 2 anchovy fillets, finely chopped

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 tsp fresh lemon juice

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1/2 cup olive oil

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese


Instructions

  • Make the Dressing:
    In a bowl, mash the anchovies and garlic together to form a paste. Add Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and the egg yolk. Whisk until smooth.

  • Add the Oil:
    Slowly drizzle in olive oil while whisking constantly until the dressing thickens and emulsifies. Stir in grated Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Assemble the Salad:
    In a large bowl, toss the chopped romaine with the Caesar dressing until evenly coated.

 

  • Top It Off:
    Add croutons and shaved Parmesan cheese on top. Serve immediately.


Notes

  • For extra flavor, toast your own croutons in olive oil with garlic.

  • Add grilled chicken or shrimp to make it a full meal.

  • If you’re concerned about raw egg, use a pasteurized egg or substitute with 1 tbsp mayonnaise.
