Scale
For the Dough:
- 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- All-purpose flour (for dusting)
For the Garlic Butter:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (finely chopped)
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. - Prepare the Dough:
Lightly flour your work surface. Roll the pizza dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Cut the dough into 12 equal strips. - Shape the Knots:
Take each strip, tie it into a simple knot, and tuck the ends underneath. Place the knots on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them. - Bake:
Bake the knots for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. - Make the Garlic Butter:
While the knots are baking, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and red pepper flakes (if using) in a small bowl. - Brush with Garlic Butter:
As soon as the knots come out of the oven, brush them generously with the garlic butter mixture. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan if desired. - Serve:
Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping, if you like.
Notes
- Dough Tip: You can use homemade or store-bought pizza dough for convenience.
- Extra Garlic Flavor: For a stronger garlic flavor, add a little garlic powder to the butter mixture.
- Make Ahead: Prepare the knots ahead of time and reheat in the oven for a few minutes before serving.
