Description

This Garlic Chicken recipe is simple, flavorful, and perfect for any weeknight dinner. Juicy chicken breasts are cooked to perfection in a buttery garlic sauce, making it a dish the whole family will love. Pair it with steamed vegetables or mashed potatoes for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or fresh thyme leaves)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
  • Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F). Remove the chicken and set aside.
  • Make the Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add Liquid Ingredients: Stir in chicken broth and lemon juice, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze it. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Combine: Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the garlic sauce over the top. Cook for another 2 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  • Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in olive oil, garlic, and thyme for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • You can use chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts if preferred.
  • Serve with rice, pasta, or a side salad for a complete meal
