Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Steak:

  • 1 lb sirloin steak (or ribeye), thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (for tenderizing)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

For the Noodles:

  • 8 oz noodles (ramen, lo mein, or spaghetti)
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (or hoisin sauce)
  • 1 tbsp honey (or brown sugar)
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  • Marinate the Steak:

    • In a bowl, toss the sliced steak with soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper. Set aside while you prepare the noodles.
  • Cook the Noodles:

    • Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Sear the Steak:

    • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add the steak slices and sear for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned and slightly crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:

    • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
    • Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
    • Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Combine Everything:

    • Toss the cooked noodles into the skillet, coating them in the sauce.
    • Add the steak back in and stir to combine.

  • Finish & Serve:

    • Remove from heat and drizzle with sesame oil.
    • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
    • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Protein Swap: Try shrimp, chicken, or tofu instead of steak.
  • Make it spicy: Add extra chili flakes or sriracha.

  • Low-carb option: Use zucchini noodles or shirataki noodles instead.
