Description

This Garlic Butter Oven Baked Tilapia is a quick and easy dinner that’s ready in just 20 minutes! The fish is coated in a flavorful garlic butter sauce with a hint of lemon and baked to perfection. It’s tender, flaky, and pairs beautifully with rice, roasted veggies, or a fresh salad. Perfect for a healthy weeknight meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tilapia fillets
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon slices (for serving)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  • Make the garlic butter sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, garlic, lemon juice, paprika, salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, and red pepper flakes.
  • Prepare the fish: Pat the tilapia fillets dry with a paper towel and place them in the baking dish.
  • Coat the fillets: Brush or drizzle the garlic butter mixture evenly over each tilapia fillet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  • Broil for extra flavor (optional): For a golden, slightly crispy top, broil the fish for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and lemon slices. Enjoy with rice, roasted veggies, or a side salad!

Notes

  • You can substitute tilapia with cod, haddock, or any mild white fish.
  • For extra richness, add a sprinkle of grated Parmesan before baking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
