Description

This Garlic Butter Oven-Baked Tilapia is flaky, tender, and packed with flavor! Made with a simple garlic butter sauce and baked to perfection, this dish is a great option for a healthy and delicious meal in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 4 tilapia fillets (fresh or thawed)

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)

  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano (or Italian seasoning)

  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prep:

    • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

    • Lightly grease a baking dish or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:

    • In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, paprika, oregano, and red pepper flakes (if using).

  • Season the Tilapia:

    • Place tilapia fillets in the baking dish.

    • Brush or pour the garlic butter sauce evenly over the fish.

  • Bake the Tilapia:

    • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

  • Garnish & Serve:

    • Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

    • Pair with rice, roasted vegetables, or a side salad.

Notes

  • Don’t overbake! Tilapia cooks quickly, so check for doneness around 12 minutes.

  • Add extra flavor: Top with grated Parmesan or a sprinkle of breadcrumbs before baking.

  • Make it spicy: Add extra red pepper flakes or a dash of cayenne pepper.
