Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 8 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped (or 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips)
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 4 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat & Prep:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal. - Melt Butter & Chocolate:
In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and chopped chocolate together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. - Mix Wet Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes). - Combine:
Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the sugar and egg mixture, whisking constantly until well combined. - Add Dry Ingredients:
Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold the mixture with a spatula until just combined—don’t overmix for maximum fudginess.
Fold in the chopped pecans. - Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle extra pecans on top for added crunch.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter). - Cool & Serve:
Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Extra Fudgy: Slightly underbake by 2 minutes for an ultra-gooey texture.
- Flavor Boost: Add a pinch of espresso powder to enhance the chocolate flavor.
- Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days or freeze for longer storage.
