Ingredients
For the Casserole:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup long-grain white rice, uncooked
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
For the Topping:
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese
- 1 cup crispy fried onions (such as French’s)

Preheat Oven & Prepare Baking Dish:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Cook the Ground Beef:
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned.
- Add chopped onion and garlic, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Drain any excess grease.

Combine Ingredients:
- Stir in the French onion soup, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, rice, salt, pepper, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Mix well and bring to a gentle simmer.

Bake the Casserole:
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and cover tightly with foil.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the rice is tender.

Add Cheese & Crispy Onions:
- Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top.
- Return to the oven (uncovered) for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
- Sprinkle crispy fried onions on top and bake for another 5 minutes until golden brown.
