  • For the Cupcakes:
  • 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) whole milk
  • For the Frosting:
  • 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups (360g) powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream (or milk)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Red and green sprinkles (for decorating)

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • Cream Butter & Sugar: In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  • Add Eggs & Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Combine Wet & Dry: Add the dry ingredients in two batches, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  • Bake: Divide the batter evenly into the cupcake liners, filling each about ⅔ full. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely before frosting.
  • Make Frosting: Beat the butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar gradually, then mix in heavy cream, vanilla, and salt. Beat until fluffy.
  • Decorate: Pipe or spread the frosting onto the cooled cupcakes and top with festive sprinkles.

Notes

  • You can add a few drops of red or green food coloring to the frosting for extra holiday cheer!
  • Store cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the fridge for up to a week.
