Description

These St. Patrick’s Day Cookies are soft, chewy, and decorated in festive green to bring a little extra luck to your holiday! Whether you add green M&M’s, sprinkles, or a drizzle of white chocolate, these cookies are quick, easy, and perfect for kids and adults alike.


Ingredients

  • For the Cookies:
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • For Decorating:
  • Green sprinkles
  • Green and white M&M’s (or chocolate chips)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate, melted (for drizzle, optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prep:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cream the Butter & Sugar:
  • In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in egg and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
  • Mix the Dry Ingredients:
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Combine & Fold in Mix-ins:
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in green M&M’s or chocolate chips (if using).
  • Scoop & Decorate:
  • Scoop 1½ tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  • Add green sprinkles or press extra M&M’s on top.
  • Bake:
  • Bake for 9–11 minutes, until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  • Let cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Optional Drizzle:
  • Melt white chocolate and drizzle over the cooled cookies for an extra festive touch!

Notes

  • For a minty twist, add ½ teaspoon peppermint extract to the dough.
  • Want a shortcut? Use store-bought sugar cookie dough and just decorate!
