Description

A hearty and comforting one-pan meal made with ground beef, rice, and a creamy sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (85/15 or leaner)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (or paprika for extra flavor)
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 cup milk (for creamier texture)
  • 1 cup frozen peas or mixed vegetables (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onions are soft. Drain excess grease.

Stir in garlic, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for another minute.

Add uncooked rice, beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, and milk. Stir well.

Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish and cover tightly with foil.

Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until rice is tender.

Remove from oven, stir in frozen peas (if using), and top with shredded cheese.

Return to the oven uncovered for 5 more minutes, until cheese is melted.

Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Substitute brown rice, but increase cooking time by 15-20 minutes.
  • Use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef for a lighter option.

  • Add mushrooms or bell peppers for extra veggies.
